The Kids and School

Cassie and Brendan are doing great in school. Both are having a great year so far. Brendan has been convinced by his sister to be in the band. So, that means that he is riding the bus home in the afternoon with Cassie. He plans on playing the drums. Progress reports will be coming home tomorrow and I know they will be great since I check skyward every couple of days or so and I get a weekly progress report and have it set that if they have a grade that is below 80 I'm notified by e-mail. We missed football for Brendan this year with the Y but next year he can play for Ingram. Cassie is running Cross country again this year I'm just not sure when and where she will be running yet.

First week of school

The first week of school has come and gone and all is well here in Ingram Texas.(except we all could use some rain and cooler temps.) Brendan has made a new friend named Michael who just happens to live down the street. We all walk home together and after he checks in they have been doing their homework together. (I like this kid.) Cassie has finally decided not to play football(YEAH!!!) instead she and a girl friend are going to be the water girls for the team. She even made them t-shirts to wear at the games. She is doing very well in band Johnson says she is playing better than ever.
Don't forget to check the scores in the right hand corner of the blog and as you can see we lost but it was a well fought game we scored first and only lost by one touchdown.

End of summer and start of school

I know that I haven't had any post this summer but with work and having to share computers with the kids computer time for me has been very limited to say the least. Everyone has had a great summer. Cassie and Brendan have been "working" with Miguel at McDonald's. By working I mean they have been going in with him and making parfaits and other jobs he didn't want to do until I got off from work and then coming home with me. He has been paying them for everyday they go in. They have learned very fast no work no pay. Brendan got to go to Dream Kamp which he just loved and can't wait to go again. Cassie has already started back to school sort of. She has been at "Band camp" last week and will be there this week too. She will be very busy once school actually starts because she will be in athletics, band and will have two advanced placement classes- biology and algebra I. Brendan will only have three different teachers for his core classes since there are only three six grade classes and each class period will ninety minutes long.

Softball

Cassie's softball team is not doing so great this year. So far they have lost every game they have played. They didn't play any games this week but will be playing Thursday April 28 in Ingram at 6:00pm. The next game will be may 3 @ 8:00pm in Fredricksburg.

Cassie and district track

At her final meet for district she ran the mile and place fifth. she also ran in the relay and the team got third. Ingram middle school received third place in district. As far as pole vault and high jump she scratched in pole vault and got seventh in high jump

Cassie, track and softball

Cassie is not only doing pole vault she is also doing high jump. She got seventh place is high jump which is better than pole vault where she scratched. She is also running relays. She has one more meet and the season will be over. Now on to softball. She is once again playing for Bubba Havis (he was her coach for basketball and all-stars softball last year). Her first game was last Saturday and her team won 10-6. She got a hit her first at bat and got a walk due to the fact she got hit on her second at bat. She did not get to score either time due to outs she got left standing on third both times. Her games are on Tuesdays, Fridays or Saturdays. If anyone wants to come watch her play call or e-mail me and I will be glad to give you her schedule.

Brendan and Basketball

the season is over and Brendan's team The Thunder came in second place for both the season and in the tournament. He now has Tony's old basketball goal in the yard and he and Matt and or Cassie play almost everyday. He wants to get better at free throws, layups and three point shots. Since he does have a whole year to get better I think he will surprise some of the other boys next year.
